Den Omvända Kramen, Textilmuseet, 2025

A co-created artwork by Felicia Hansen and workshop participants

During the summer of 2025, textile designer, artist, and self-proclaimed professional teddy bear killer Felicia Hansen invited the public to collaboratively create a new large-scale textile artwork at the Textilmuseet in Borås. Through workshops, old and forgotten stuffed animals were given new life as part of the artwork Den Omvända Kramen (The Reversed Hug).

The piece explores how objects once filled with love, comfort, and memories can be transformed into something new, larger, and shared. With contributions from both young and old participants, discarded stuffed animals have been joined together into a tactile installation that invites visitors to see, touch, and experience it with their whole body.

Den Omvända Kramen speaks of community, sustainability, love, and care, about allowing something old to find a new place and meaning.

The project was developed and led by Felicia Hansen during weeks 27, 28, and 29 at the Textilmuseet, the summer of 2025.

Den Omvända Kramen is currently on show at Textilmusset, Skaraborgsvägen 3, Borås, Sweden.
